About me

Thank you for visiting my blog!

I'm Ramón Talavera-Franco. My field of interest includes researching and designing solutions to increase academic opportunities for Latino students (K-16). I'm focused on organizational leadership, curriculum, elearning, and blended education. While working at the University of Texas at Austin, I implemented an innovative credit recovery system to reduce the Hispanic drop out rate in Texas. This program has benefitted thousands of students since the year 2005. Currently, I'm exploring how Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) can be tailored to meet the academic and professional needs of the Latino community in the United States.

Additionally, I'm working towards a Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) with a concentration in curriculum, teaching, learning and leadership at Northeastern University.
